Park Hotel Tokyo

Well-thought-out ‘design’ hotel in one of Tokyo most futuristic central skyscrapers. Convenient (particularly for Haneda Airport) and comfortable.

Overview

The Park Hotel is one of our favourites in Tokyo for several reasons; a great location in East Tokyo, wonderful views over to Tokyo Tower, impeccable service and it represents excellent value within its class - i.e. amongst Tokyo's luxury hotels.

The Park Hotel is a member of the 'Design Hotel' group, known for creating stylish interiors. Indeed, once you step in to the glass-roofed atrium on the 25th floor of this high-rise complex it is immediately apparent that this is a property with a touch of class. All the facilities you would expect are present and correct – excellent spa, gym, a choice of five restaurants and cafés, and even an ART shop. All that's missing is a swimming pool to push it in to a five star category.

Like many hotels in Tokyo, the Park Hotel occupies part of a mixed-use skyscraper; in this case the ten uppermost floors of the Shiodome Media Tower. Architecturally, the Park Hotel is rather unique - the core of the building has been hollowed out, so that its 274 rooms all face outward.

The result is a sun-drenched, ten-storey atrium, extending 120 feet straight up to the skyscrapers glass ceiling – far more refreshing than the enclosed lobby floors of some Tokyo tower hotels.

Location

The Park Hotel Tokyo is in Shiodome Media Tower, ideally situated in a flourishing centre of business and culture. For easy access to Tokyo public transport, there are access points from the B2, 1st and 3rd floors, therefore it is possible to reach all the stations in the area via an extensive pedestrian bridge or the underground passage network.

The Shiodome district is one of Tokyo's most futuristic areas, a visual feast, and the Ginza shopping district is close at hand. It is only a seven-minute walk to Shimbashi Station (on the JR Yamanote Line) and the Ginza & Toei Asakusa Subway lines.

The Airport Limousine coaches stop at the hotel from both Narita (100 minutes) and Haneda (less than an hour).

Park Hotel Tokyo is only a 10-minute walk to Hamarikyu Gardens. Tsukiji Fish Market and the Ginza shopping area are both just a 5-minute taxi ride from the hotel.
